The School of Sport and Wellbeing delivers exceptional teaching, research and consultancy in the areas of sport and exercise, sports coaching and development, nutritional sciences and food safety, and the outdoors.
Our academic team consists of dedicated professionals with an active research profile, many of whom also have strong links with industry and relevant professional organisations.
Our students, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, gain in-depth subject knowledge, as well as developing a wide range of personal and transferable skills, highly valued by today’s employers.
The School's comprehensive provision of undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes extends learning out from the classroom into the real world.
Students can take advantage of a wide range of work experience opportunities in the UK and around the world, including 48-week placements, shorter internships and volunteering roles, aided by our relationships with partner organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors.
Our outstanding facilities have welcomed local and professional sports teams and elite athletes alike, from Preston North End FC, Wigan Warriors RFC and Preston Harriers, to Oceania during the 2012 Olympics, and members of the Ireland team for the Rugby League World Cup 2013.
Working with sports clubs, locally, nationally and internationally our consultancy support harnesses expertise across a range of sporting settings. Athletes, teams, organisations and sports companies can tap into our research, training, professional development and facilities.
Students benefit from brand new, purpose-built laboratories, classrooms and lecture theatres.
